Good evening everyone. In case you did know this about me. I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict.
I was a functioning alcoholic and drug addict as much as you can be when you are in the throws of addiction. I started writing when I was around 13 years old and I started by keeping a journal nothing fancy a note book really so my parents wouldn't find it. I didn't want it to stand out. Because they were never interested in my school work, as long as I stayed out of their hair and out of sight everything was fine. I still keep a daily journal to this day. Maybe that is what has kept me sane all these years. Although I doubt it.
I didn't see it at the time and I didn't see it until just these recent years that it was the Lord that was keeping me alive. He had a plan for me and I am living that plan now. I don't know when it will end or what else he has instore for me. I do know that what ever it is I owe him my life and I am grateful for the gift He has given me.
The Lord has give me so many great gifts that I could spend an hour or two just naming them off in a list. However there are a few that I must recognize 1st) He has give His Holy Son so that I may have Life eternal with Him. 2nd) He gave me my life back when I tried to throw it away by committing suicide, 3rd) He gave me a wife who loves me enough that she not only stuck with me through that, she is still with me 4th) He gave me a great deal of faith to help me find my way and so that I could testify that He is the Lord and that His only Son is the only way to Heaven and to be by His side for all eternity.
